How does tracking actually work?+
The Chrome extension attaches an invisible 1×1 tracking pixel to every email you send from Gmail. When the recipient opens the email, their mail client loads the pixel from our server — and that's how we know.
Will the recipient know they're being tracked?+
No. The pixel is completely invisible and adds nothing visible to the email. There is no MailPeek footer or branding in the message.
What are the limitations?+
If the recipient blocks images or uses a strict privacy mail app (like Apple Mail Privacy Protection), opens may not be detected or may be over-counted. This is a limitation shared by every email tracking tool.
Do you read my emails?+
Never. MailPeek stores only the subject and recipient of emails you choose to track — nothing about the body. The extension needs no Gmail account access; it uses a private API key.
